It's August! Time for Fall Fashion

It's that time of year again. It's so hot you could fry an egg on the sidewalk. You walk outside to go to the mailbox, and come back in with a full sweat on your brow. and only to find your bowl of ice cream has experienced full melt down! It seems like nothing will cool you down during the hot "dog days" of summer.

When the scorching summer heat seem relentless, escape to the mall! Inside, you can seek refuge from the oppressive heat because it is cool, refreshing and air-conditioned while you shop. August is also a particularly peculiar month at the mall. The storefront mannequins are now dressed in jackets and warm woolen sweaters. It seems like the beginning of cool season weather is suddenly upon us! Heavy sweaters and jackets in rich, bold fall colors creep into the all the corners of the stores - as if overnight! What? I'm standing in my white shorts and sandals in a full sweat. I don't think so! Reality check- it is 95 degrees outside!!! 

First, relax and take a deep breath, summer and warm weather are not over yet. Only have the stores forgotten summer! It is August, and it is a great month to get a jump start on what the new fall season is all about. This is your first preview to the new fall fashions! Really look at what is on the racks. What colors, fabrics, silhouettes?  Any trendy "now" color that happens to be one of your favorites?  What new styles are you dying to try on? Are you not sure of which ones will look good on you?

Fall clothes seem to be everywhere as the month continues. "Early bird" sales can entice you to actually try on a winter sweater in August. Often you can save 25%-30% off!  You can be ahead of the game and save when you shop early for fall clothes now (these are the teasers). Also, take some mental style notes for your closet and the new upcoming season. It is time to assess your wardrobe needs, so that you don't impulsively spend on clothes that you might not wear.

At the mall in August, are also the last of the deep discounts on items that were marked down in July. Take advantage of these "end of season" sales while they last. Keep your head about you when digging through the sales racks and bins! Just because you see the sign: "Sale, sale, sale" does not mean you should buy everything that is dirt cheap! Your "sale" item is not a bargain when it is unflattering on you, or you will never, ever wear it. If it was $10.00 then you just wasted ten dollars. Follow your profile guidelines for fit and style. Be more selective! You work too hard to throw around money. So be sure you know what you want and need during the end of summer sales and the beginning of the fall season. Take full advantage of retail therapy now and enjoy the transition of seasons while you escape from the heat of August.
